Giving the grand tour

So the other day, Sam had a couple of little friends over to play that hadn't been over to our house before. I told him to go show his friends his room, and the toys downstairs, etc. So Sam is leading these two kids all around the house showing them everything, and when they go downstairs I hear him saying, "Here's our basement. See the paint. My mom and Dad painted it." This just made me laugh so hard because he sounded just like me when I show anyone the remodeling that we have been doing .

Today we drove to Peoria with Colette and her two kids, and Nancy and her 2 kids, and my new friend Mado and her baby girl. Mado and I chatted in French all the way up and back. It was pretty fun, actually. I enjoy the time with her. Her little baby is really darling. It's also fun to learn some cultural things about the Congo where she is from. We all got quite lost on the way there because there was so much construction! It seemed like all the roads were closed. We had a really tough time navigating, but we finally made it. It was a little rainy and cold, but we all had a good time anyway. Sam and Carson were little monkeys all day, though. They kept trying to climb every fence in sight. Which, at the zoo, is just not a good idea.

My sister Nancy had some more bleeding with her pregnancy, which means she is back on bed rest. No fun for her. This has been a rough pregnancy for her. Poor thing. It makes me grateful that I can be up and active and busy.

I've been trying to be good about my diet and exercise, and I did do better this week, but still have a long way to go.

I absolutely HATE not having any money. We have two paychecks that are late, and it's killing us! Even though I would hate to leave Illinois, if Trevor were able to find a better job it might alleviate some of the financial pressure and maybe I wouldn't have to work so much. That's all for now.
