Emily's cute new haircut for school

Emily looks sooooo cute with this new haircut. Very grown-up! She was darling on first day of school with new jeans and shirt, earrings she had made, and of course the new hairstyle. Very chic for middle school. I think it was a tough day for her, though. When I picked her up, the first thing she said to me was, "Oh mom, I have to go back there tomorrow." I guess she's discouraged because hardly any of her old friends are in her classes, and she's really nervous about making new friends. These transitions are always hard for her. She'll be okay, but I'm saying a few extra prayer for her today. Max also, came home from school, and was not overly excited. He just grunted in response to my questions about teacher, friends, etc. But, my impression was that his teacher is MUCH nicer than the lady he had last year, and his classroom is really cool with one computer for every 2 students, and a cool smart board that connects to the computers. It looks like they have a huge technology emphasis, which I think will be fun for him. Max got a new haircut for school, too--a little shorter with more layers, while still trying to preserve his "longer" look. He doesn't like it, and asks me once every hour how long it will take for his hair to grow back. I haven't taken a picture of it yet, but will try to remember to do so, and will post a picture. Meanwhile, here's Emily's cute cut.
